She is the past president of the Adams County Bar Association and is active in the Broomfield Bar Association and the Bankruptcy and Family Law subsections of the Colorado Bar Association. She was appointed by the chief justice of the Colorado Supreme Court to the judicial performance commission of Adams County in 1998 and served as a member for eight years.
